WRRC Library Mission
The WRRC Library is committed to creating a learning environment
in which women can thrive. We seek to provide academic support to the
UC Davis campus by offering a collection of educational and informative
books about women and gender. Our research library includes educational
material about women's issues and concerns and promotes an understanding
of the role and impact of gender in our lives and our society. Our poetry
and fiction collections are dedicated to the writings of women authors,
with a special emphasis in international, LGBTQ, and women of color.
In an effort to reach students of diverse backgrounds and interests,
our collections cross topics of race, ethnicity, class, age, sexual
orientation and numerous other subjects that include or effect women.
Our hope is to address women's concerns locally, personally, and globally,
as well as to generate dialogue on issues to dispel myths and stereotypes
regarding women (and men) and to point out the diversity of women in
order to value those differences and respond to those differences. The
WRRC Library offers both academic and popular resources in order to
benefit the campus.
