CAMPUS Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance (FMLA) at UC Davis
Our organization provides feminist, pro-choice students with the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge feminist issues, to develop their leadership and organizing skills, and to be connected with the larger pro-choice and feminist movements, in the United States and internationally. acbollbach@ucdavis.edu Feminist Forum - Law School The Feminist Forum is a law shool forum for feminists to discuss legal issues that affect women. It provides support and guidance for women pursuing carers in or interested in the law. Open to all. We are open to females, males, queer, gay, lesbians, bisexuals, and all genders and sexualities in between. Ask about upcoming events or check their bulletin board in the basement of King Hall. Contact: Kim Lucia, kalucia@ucdavis.edu Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center The LGBT Resource Center provides an open, safe, inclusive space and community that is committed to challenging homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and heterosexism. The LGBTRC promotes education about all genders and sexualities, as well as space for self-exploration of these identities. Medical Students for Choice MS4C strives to reform medical school training to include abortion and reproductive health as a standard part of medical education. They educate students, the public, and policymakers in medicine and government about the vital need for abortion providers, and they build a network for the students who are working to become abortion providers. Our mission is to promote the high ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service within the University and the community. We uphold the values of friendship, support, and respect among diverse women. Queer Research Cluster The Queer Research Cluster is an interdisciplinary project devoted to interrogating structures of gender, sexuality, desire, affect, and embodiment in the contexts of political institutions, economic processes, and theoretical discourses. Membership is open to all engineering students. The Feminist Majority Foundation (FMF), which was founded in 1987, is a cutting edge organization dedicated to women's equality, reproductive health, and non-violence. In all spheres, FMF utilizes research and action to empower women economically, socially, and politically. Our organization believes that feminists - both women and men, girls and boys - are the majority, but this majority must be empowered. Feminist.com Feminist.com is a thriving online community fostering awareness, education and activism for women all across the world. We serve as the Internet’s definitive hub for resources and information dedicated to women's equality, justice, wellness and safety. Like a "feminist Google," Feminist.com facilitates connections between women and the many, varied organizations serving their needs and interests worldwide. Feministing Feministing’s Community blog exists to provide a platform for feminist and pro-feminist writing, to connect feminists online and off, and to encourage activism. We hope that the Community blog will be a forum for a variety of feminist voices and organizations. Gender Education and Advocacy Gender Education and Advocacy (GEA) is a national organization focused on the needs, issues and concerns of gender variant people in human society. International Museum of Women I.M.O.W. is a social change museum that inspires global action, connects people across borders and transforms hearts and minds by amplifying the voices of women worldwide through global online exhibitions, history, the arts and cultural programs that educate, create dialogue and build community. Ms. Foundation for Women The Ms. Foundation for Women, a social justice foundation, delivers strategic grants, capacity building and leadership development to over 150 grassroots and national advocacy organizations throughout the U.S. Ms. Foundation support enables groups to create connections across issues, constituencies and policymaking levels to strengthen social movements and ignite change on behalf of women, families and communities. National Organization for Women The National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States. NOW has 500,000 contributing members and 550 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Since its founding in 1966, NOW's goal has been to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW works to eliminate discrimination and harassment in the workplace, schools, the justice system, and all other sectors of society; secure abortion, birth control and reproductive rights for all women; end all forms of violence against women; eradicate racism, sexism and homophobia; and promote equality and justice in our society. The National Council for Research on Women The National Council for Research on Women is a network of more than 100 leading U.S. research, advocacy, and policy centers with a growing global reach.
