SHIP is comprised of medical/mental health, dental and vision insurance coverage and is available to all registered UC Davis students, with the exception of those enrolled in the Working Professional MBA program.
Undergraduate, graduate and professional students who are enrolled in UC SHIP have the option to enroll eligible dependents in a voluntary plan. The plan provides medical insurance and the option to purchase dental/vision benefits.
The UC Davis' Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP) offers coverage of hormone and surgery benefits for transgender students. As part of facilitating this coverage, Counseling and Psychological Services has formed a consultation group consisting of UCD medical providers, UCD mental health providers, and community mental health providers. This group is the Consultation Team for Transgender Care (CTTC).
