Assistant Director for Programming
Kristen Reynolds (she/her/hers) is a military brat whose family is originally from Los Angeles. She graduated from an HBCU - Johnson C. Smith University - in Charlotte, North Carolina with a degree in Biology before shifting gears and pursuing degrees in English Literature at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her research primarily engaged motifs of freedom, liberation, and resistance in speculative fiction by Black women and other women of color. Her goals in working in Higher Ed center on creating and maintaining intersectional spaces that root love, community, and growth at their core.
When she's not working, she can be found playing video games, writing her novel, watching any piece of art that Ava DuVernay and Jordan Peele touch, extolling the virtues of Octavia Butler's writing from her soapbox, or hanging out with her partner (Chris) and her dog (Storm).
