Cecily has over 10 years experience in higher education, primarily focused on students of color, first generation, and low income students, as well as gender equity. Before coming to UC Davis, she served as the Assistant Director of the Women's Center at UC San Diego. She is passionate about co-creating the WRRC as a space for healing and connection. She aims to center women and femmes of color in her work. Black feminist theory and womanism form the foundation of her approach to this work, as well as her own experiences as a queer, biracial Black woman, and student parent. Cecily earned her BA in Multicultural and Gender Studies from CSU, Chico and Masters in Postsecondary Educational Leadership from San Diego State. In her free time, Cecily loves learning about astrology and tarot, along with hanging out with her partner and two daughters who embody #BlackGirlMagic.
